Al-Naji University’s College of Engineering signs a joint cooperation agreement with University of Baghdad’s College of Engineering in a step towards enhancing scientific and academic cooperation.

As part of its continuous endeavor to enhance academic and scientific cooperation, the College of Engineering at Al-Naji University signed a joint cooperation agreement with the College of Engineering at University of Baghdad on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. This agreement comes within the framework of the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which aims to promote scientific twinning and improve the quality of scientific research and higher education in Iraq.

The agreement was signed during an official visit by Prof. Dr. Hussein Juma Abbas, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Al-Naji University, where the signing took place with Prof. Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdul Majeed, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Baghdad University, in the presence of Prof. Diaa Jassim, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, and Assistant Professor Dr. Firas Ali Saber, Head of the Department of Computer Engineering.

The agreement includes an integrated program of cooperation between the departments of computer engineering and petroleum engineering at the two universities, with the aim of enhancing academic and cultural cooperation and building strong scientific and cultural ties. The agreement also includes the exchange of administrative and scientific expertise between the teaching and administrative bodies of the two universities, in addition to activating cultural and scientific student activities and organizing joint programs that include workshops, seminars and scientific conferences that aim to support innovation and promote intellectual interaction between students and professors.

This cooperation comes after fruitful discussions between the two sides to develop a roadmap that contributes to improving the reality of higher education and scientific research in Iraq, supports the development of the educational process for students, and enhances the status of Iraqi universities at the local and international levels.
