Study in Iraq Program

In accordance with the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research as part of the “Study in Iraq” initiative, Al-Naji University announces that applications are now open to Arab and international students wishing to pursue bachelor’s degree programs in the university’s colleges, in a number of medical, engineering, and humanities disciplines.

Language of Instruction
Medical and engineering programs are taught in English.
Humanities programs are taught in Arabic.

Study in Iraq Initiative Admission Requirements

  1. Academic Certificate
    • Submit a recognized secondary or high school certificate accepted in Iraq.
    • The certificate must be authenticated by the Ministries of Education and Foreign Affairs in the applicant's home country and endorsed by the Iraqi Embassy or Consulate in that country (if available).
    • The certificate must meet the admission requirements for the intended academic program.
    • Complete the certificate equivalency procedures through the Iraqi Ministry of Education and submit all required documents.
  2. Compliance with Regulations
    • The applicant must agree to comply with all rules and regulations stated in the Student Affairs Procedures Guide and the admission regulations of private universities.
    • Applicants must comply with the international student admission instructions issued by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as the regulations of the admitting university.
  3. Full-Time Study
    • The applicant must be fully dedicated to studying and may not combine study with employment.
  4. Minimum Admission Requirements

    Applicants must meet the minimum admission average according to the selected specialization:

    Pharmacy & Dentistry 85% (Scientific/Biology Stream or Equivalent)
    Health Sciences & Health Technologies 70%
    Engineering Programs 60%
  5. Medical Examination
    • Submit a medical certificate confirming that the applicant is free from communicable diseases, issued by the relevant health authority in the applicant's home country and authenticated by the Iraqi Ministry of Health.
    • Provide proof of the required vaccinations against Smallpox, Typhoid, and COVID-19.
  6. Application Form
    • Complete and submit the admission application form.
  7. Admission Procedures
    • After admission, ministerial approval orders are issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, followed by university admission orders listing the accepted students. These are then presented to the College Council for approval according to the university's procedures.
  8. Cancellation of Admission
    • The student's admission will be cancelled if they fail to enroll in the admitted college within the specified period after the beginning of the academic year.

Required Documents

  • A valid passport with at least two years of validity from the application date.
  • Academic certificates authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the applicant's home country and the Iraqi Embassy or Iraqi Cultural Attaché in that country.
  • TOEFL or IELTS certificate (if required).
  • Certificate of Good Conduct / Police Clearance issued by the applicant's home country.
  • A valid health certificate.
